Biography Heath Ledger
Heath Ledger:
"I love acting. Oh, God, I love it. But all this fame and attention. I'm not supernatural. I've done nothing extremely special to deserve the position. It happens every couple of years, and it's happened to hundreds of people before me."
Heath an his older Sister Kate are named after the brooding hero of Wuthering Heights, a Novel by Emily Brontë. Heath Andrew Ledger was born in Perth, Australia, on April 4, 1979, to Kim, a mining engineer and racing enthusiast, and French teacher Emma. His parents divorced when Heath was ten, but he appears to have been remarkably unaffected by the split. ”The point I got to very quickly after my parents’ divorce,” he explains, “was to realize they were just human.”
Together with his Kate, Heath developed his stage craft with the Globe Shakespeare company in Perth.
Heath did also a lot of sports, he played in the Kalamunda Field Hockey Team in the early 90's, his Father, Kim, was the President of the Team and persuaded fellow pupils at Guildford Boy’s Grammar School to enter a national dance competition, going on to lead them to victory as the first all-male group to win the event.
At the age of 16, Heath left the school, soon revealed the determination that has served him so well in his career. Along with childhood friend (since the age of 4) Trevor Di Carlo, he set off on the 2,600-mile journey to Sydney in search of fame and fortune.
In 1996 Heath played Australian TV's first young gay character , theOlympic hopefulSnowy Bowles in the series Sweat. Heath's choice of particularly taxing roles is typical of his career, as is the self-criticism which led him to declare himself "hopeless" in the role.
His movie debut was in 1997, a surfermovie called Blackrock. Later Heath appeard in the Aussie Soap Home And Away. Following his growing success Down Under he decided to try his chances in America where he was soon appearing in the TV drama Roar playing the main chracter Conor, a Celtic Warrior Prince, there he felled in love with co-star Lisa Zane sister of Titanic baddy Billy. Other romances included model Christina Cauchi, actress Heather Graham (dated October 2000 - June 2001) and Naomi Watts
A leading role in the 1999’s 10 Things I Hate About You resulted in a deluge of offers to appear in similar teen-film roles, but Heath accepted non oft them. "I had a year where I sat around on my butt and declined generous offers to do more teen movies and more of the same characters as the one from 10 Things,” he says. “I was literally living off instant noodles and water just because I was sticking to my guns. It was very hard because they offer you so much money.”
A year later Heath was back on the big screen, opposite his favorit Aussie Actor Mel Gibson in Roland Emmerich's Masterwork The Patriot. He got the Role and Ryan Phillippe lost.
Later he Played Sir William Thatcher/Sir Ulrich Von Lichtenstein of Gelderland in Brian Helgeland's A Knight's Tale, Sonny Grotowski in Monster's Ball (2001 with Halley Berry and Billy Bob Thornton), Harry Faversham in the Four Feathers (2002), Ned Kelly (2003), Alex Bernier in the Order (2003 / the sin eater), Jake Grimm in Brother's Grimm (2004 with Matt Damon). Later he played in Brokeback Moutain and he was the Joker in Batman: The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger died 2008. (c) 2009 heathledger.info
Biographie Heath Ledger (German)
Es ist eine art modernes Shakespear The Taming of the Shrew.
Januar 2008 wurde Heat Ledger tot in seinem Appartment in New York aufgefunden.
